Lowe said reporters are asking a lot of hard questions of the president-elect.
“How do you plan to pay for all these things, such as your health-care plan? They need to understand everything belongs to God. Nothing is too hard for God.”
The Rev. Art Jones of Bible Based Fellowship Church in Carrollwood opened his service on hands and knees, offering a prayer for the president-elect.
“Bless the world that welcomed his coming,” Jones said.
This is Bush 2.0 when the Repubs got the evangelical base all fired up. I feel very bad for anyone who put this much faith in Obama.

I cannot believe that article. The messiah has arrived and all of Obama’s friends that he supposedly never really knew are coming out of the wordwork–Rev. Wright and Farrakhan have been heard from, and Bill Ayers is giving interviews right and left admitted his relationship with Obama. How are we going to get through the next four years?
I can’t bare to even look at the newspaper. I had great fun ripping it to shreds on Wednesday and now I just throw it straight into the recycling. We need some type of super glasses that filter out and sight of him or that bitch he’s married to.

Oh yes, it “Hail the Messiah” alright. Obama has done NOTHING to deserve this kind of loyalty. What has he done except do what multi-billionaires tell him to do? Look at the South Side of Chicago. What has he done for his community while he was a state senator?? NOTHING.
I was just as appalled as you both were.
He reached out the evangelicals of all colors and convinced them that he was their saviour. Ugh, I already have a Messiah–and I don’t even return Her/His/Their phone calls with any regularity. If it weren’t for the fact that I’m already fairly big on public service, I wouldn’t be answering his call to it either. Something tells me that all those teeny bopper who jumped after him with stars in their eyes won’t be so content to get off Facebook and get their hands dirty just cuz he says so.
Obama =/= Jeezus Crisp.

It turns out only 18% of the vaunted youth vote turned out and close to have of those were AA’s.

I am not surprised by the AA community worshiping him and thinking something praiseworthy has happened. I am black, grew up in the black pentecostal church, and have seen this phenomenon before: a charismatic black man can get people emotionally stirred by saying a whole lot of nothing week after week, and no amount of pointing out his failure to walk the talk will get people to stop swooning over him. No matter what he does or does not do, they will make excuses for him. It’s shameful to see otherwise intelligent people so desperate for hope that they check their brains at the door.

In the meantime, I can’t shake the feeling of unease I have had on a daily basis since the election. Obama is not the Messiah, but if seems as if only a handful of sane people realize this.

The AA community is no different than the rest of us who are thirsty for leadership. What they fail to see is that he does not give a shit for them or anyone else for that matter. Just think back to those poor souls he represented in that district of Chicago who froze their butts off after Rezko took over their housing and BO ignored the pleas for heat.
But the community will overlook his dismissals. They keep reelecting people like Marion Berry and Wm. Jefferson who have done nothing but cheat and lie. This makes them no different then the rest of us who do the same it seems. How to account for Ted Stevens winning once again along with any number of white assholes who face indictment or serious charges of moral transgression.
We refuse to demand more of our candidates. Therefore we must live with the stupidity.
